About
I am a lifelong resident of Eugene, Oregon in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley.
I've always had a noted artistic vision. Starting to sculpt with clay as a young child, moving onto other medias in my teenage years, eventually serving an apprenticeship under a noted local metal smith.
The ability to create and appreciate fine art is a defining human characteristic, one that I am proud to encourage, both in myself and others.
I was drawn to make my contribution to freehand glass engraving soon after being exposed to it in the fall of 1998. It's an exacting, demanding art form with little room for error. One that takes it's toll on the artist. But if you are willing to go beyond the boundaries of your own expectations, even slight deviation from your original idea will ultimately present you with the opportunity to create greater beauty in your work than you could have ever possibly envisioned. It's a perfect metaphor for the human condition.
